“Stage Boss” - Carlos Martínez.

ABOUT ME

Jovi Geraldes (she/her/hers), is a proud bilingual performer turned Theatre Technician and Stage Manager from the wondrous Dominican Republic. Passionate about merging her acting knowledge with modern technical expertise, Jovi has started a career that is both artistically resonant and technically strong. For Jovi, this work is not just a professional opportunity—it is a continuation of her mission to uplift her community and heritage through the arts.

Growing up in the Dominican Republic, Jovi was immersed in the performing arts from a young age. She has 8 years of performance training in her home country and participated in a total of 9 shows, most large scale productions performed in important spaces such as The National Theatre Eduardo Brito, and The Manuel Rueda at Bellas Artes. She moved to New York and attended Wagner College, where during her studies she participated and culminated in a total of 12 productions, ranging from black box theatre to the mainstage, from musicals to straight plays, from Stage Management to carpentry (and a bit of acting). Spending an extra year at her Alma Mater, she continued her craft and held the Master Carpenter position for all productions.

In her time as Production Manager at Thalia Spanish Theatre in Queens, New York, Jovi brought her passion, experience, and leadership to a space dedicated to Spanish-language storytelling. Her strong work ethic, efficiency in translating, cultural insight, and technical foundation positioned her to make a meaningful impact, both artistically and operationally.

Jovi thrives in high-pressure environments, balancing poise and precision with warmth and collaboration. Her work proves her a skilled mediator in the rehearsal room and backstage, Whether guiding designers, managing crews, or supporting performers, she ensures that every voice is heard and every element aligns. She is an organized, direct and personable young woman with eagerness to experiment and solve challenges ahead.
